Husky-hike

Join us for summer adventures with our huskies!

During the summer, our dogs have a "holiday." But they love to join us on hikes or go down to the lake to swim and cool off.

If you want to visit us and our dogs during the summer, you are warmly welcome to join a husky hike in the forests around our farm.

We’ll harness one dog each, and you’ll get a waist belt and leash for a comfortable walk where you’ll have the chance to get to know the dogs and get an insight into life with sled dogs. We’ll finish the hike with a fika (coffee break) where you can taste locally smoked meat from, for example, moose, reindeer, or bear.

Prepare for the hike

Make sure to wear comfortable and durable clothes and shoes that can handle wet conditions.
Approximately 3–5 km walk on easy terrain.
Drinks and snacks are included.
Duration: about 2 hours.
Minimum 2 participants.

Our dogs

We are a small kennel with around 15 dogs, where each individual is cared for and given the time they deserve. Every dog is unique and has their own special superpowers — whether it’s the one who is attentive and able to lead the rest of the team, or the one as strong as an ox who loves to pull at the back to move the sled forward. Or the dog who adores puppies and serves as a great role model to help raise them, or the one who is a calm and loyal companion, acting as a pillar of support for another. Everyone has their role in the pack and is equally important.

Alaskan Huskies are elite athletes in the animal world and are among the most popular breeds used in famous sled dog races like the Iditarod in Alaska — a grueling 1,100-mile race!

Besides being fast and enduring athletes, Alaskan Huskies are loyal and friendly dogs that thrive well in a pack. We often say they are pure joy and love!

Food is the fuel for sled dogs, and we feed ours fresh meat that they absolutely love. But building a strong and healthy body also requires rest, and we make sure all dogs feel calm and safe in their kennels without unnecessary stress. On rest days, the dogs get to socialize together as a pack in the large exercise yard to strengthen important social bonds.

The dogs are a way of life and a never-ending passion for us. They are our top priority, and we feel honored and grateful to have them in our lives. We know each one inside and out and are happy to share their stories and zest for life with you during our tours!
